As a Digital Technologist - Quality Assurance and Testing, I aim to improve the quality of software so that YOU as an end user receive a positive experience. I use multiple models and techniques that are appropriate and relevant to the tests that I write when working in a manual and automated approach. I work with a team of highly intelligent colleagues and collborate daily to produce high quality software.
Since 2008, I have worked in the IT industry from small enterprises to multi-national (corporate) organisations. My intention is that every day I learn something new, in order to become a bigger and better version of ME!
Prior to my current testing world, I studied BSc(Hons) Information Technology and MSc Computing. I really enjoyed my studies and made some great friends (one of which is hosting this website for me - thanks Mr. Bartle!). I have completed professional software testing qualifications through the International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) and I have the intention of continuing my learning through this professional body. As a QA/Tester, I conform to a professional code of conduct to ensure that my work is of the highest standard. The following is a list of items (in no particular order) that defines who I am in the Software Testing/Quality Assurance world.
- Work analytically - thinking of every possible scenario from test creation to test execution
- Work using a risk-based approach
- Raise any defects and push for them to be heard and fixed (even software doesn't want to be poorly!)
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure we are all working in the most efficient manner to deliver the highest quality software
- Engage in ongoing training and professional development activities
- Find opportunities to automate! This is the only way I will learn to be a better automated tester
- Focus on the team for ways of working, collaboration, processes and constantly try to improve in ourselves (as humans) and the software (delivery)
- Find creative ways of delivering/communicating ideas that matter to me, to help others understand my approach
- Train others and "spread the knowledge!"
- Be compassionate to others and help them learn and grow!
- Communicate and connect with others - respect and understand everybody's belief systems - we all want to be understood!
Why is this not changing to black or moving down
